Earth Day

I don't know if anyone watches the Discovery Channel or not, but there is a commercial that they had about 2 months ago that they still run, but theyv'e shortened it.

It shows a view from space, looking down at the earth, usually with two people in their space uniforms. There is a song in the background and the words go "Boom-diada (sang in A natural), Boom-diada(G natural), Boom-diada (C Natural), Boom-diada(F Natural). With the shortened version, that is all that is sung, it is just music from there on.

Anyways, we call that my oldest daughters song. She sang it with her class, @school, for Earth Day and they were adorable. Now when that comercial comes on, my whole crew runs to the tv and sings the song. Even the 10 year old. Just don't ask him, he'll either blush or possibly fib that he never did.

Check out this pic I pulled from the newspaper photos. My girl is the one on the far left. Her best friend is right next to her.

Old one but a good one...

This is from a year or so ago. I had sent it out in an e-mail back then and just re-read it. Thought you all might like this "Oldie bt a goodie".

Boys are so fun! They come up with the funniest things!

The oldest was in his room coloring, the girls in the living room playing and youngest son with me, while I am hanging up clothes in the girls room. All of a sudden the room is full of kids. The girls just running around/through and the oldest boy comes hopping in on one foot saying he just hurt (or stubbed) his toe. He plopped down on one of the girls beds to lift his foot up to show me. I was facing the other direction with my hands full of clothes, but looked back because he actually sounded convincing. His toe was purple, so I put down what I was taking care of to check out the situation.

When I got close I noticed he had used a purple marker to make his big toe look like it had been REALLY hurt. While laughing, I hollored that I couldn't believe he did that. Then we laughed about it off and on the rest of the day.

The things our kids come up with is priceless!

Constance has it going on!

Constance has it going on! We need to take tips from her girls!

It looks as if I could learn a few things from her. She has her own web page and much more. WOW!

I'm still learning. Also trying to figure out how to get video off of my camera onto my computer. Hope to have that going soon.

Later,

COLORADO HERE WE COME!!!!!! Fishing last summer! This is the beautiful scene I have looked at since I was 5 years old!

NEWS AND OTHER STUFF!

We got approved for a concurrent adoption!!! We are very excited! We pray that we get our paperwork before we leave for Colorado Friday, so that we can get it in the mail and get the ball rolling! In the meantime, we are busy, busy this week preparing for our camping trip. It takes a lot of work to go on vacation, especially to go camping!! Oh, but it's worth it! My family enjoys it so much! My daughter is the 4th generation Colorado camper in our family. We meet my parents there every June and make lots of wonderful memories! I will be making goodies for our trip on Thursday. Here is a recipe I think you will enjoy:

Cocoa Puff Cookies
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup white corn syrup
1/4 cup honey
Bring ingredients to a boil and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in:
12 oz. chunky (or smooth) peanut butter
4 cups Cocoa Puffs cereal
Mix well by hand. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper. Let cool.
Enjoy!

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and proclaiming "Wow, what a ride!" Author unknown

Check out this cute little home video my husband made, it's short and to the point. If you are going to video tape all those precious moments of your children to cherish, why not make it entertaining? This way your not stuck with hours of footage that you may never watch, make it fun for the whole family to enjoy. This was such a fun clip to shoot of our baby eating rice cereal, especially since I got to chunk the cereal at his face. : ) The second time our oldest daughter got the privilege. We all had a good time making it. Some great video software to use in doing this is: Windows Movie Maker - free program that comes with most computers that has Windows; if you are using a Mac, you can use I-movie; and if you are willing to spend some money you can use Adobe Premier. Best of luck with all your video captures. Till next time, Nina.

ATTN:

All my FABULOUS Mom friends!

We want to start a play day for all of us stay-at-homers! We are thinking once a week Tuesdays or Thursdays starting in July? We could meet at Burger King and let the kids play or we could go the park? Swimming? Leonardo's? Anything sounds fun to me! Let me know if you are up for it or if you have any ideas! Looking forward to a FUN summer!

Corderman Tidbits!

Whew!! This is Gina signing in! I am glad it is summer! I had a wonderful school year with super kids, but summer break is always awesome! I did go to a 2 day Great Expectation workshop yesterday and today at UCO. I had a wonderful time and learned a lot! I just hope I remember all the ideas when school starts!

Baylee is glad for summer, but is suffering social withdrawal from her friends, even though it has only been 2 weeks, and there has been 2 slumber parties involved! We stay pretty busy with lots of home projects and just running around town. I go crazy as well without something to do!

As some of you know, Brian and I are adopting from China. Things are going at a snail's pace. We will be extremely lucky at the rate we are going, to get her in 2 and half more years!!! We did apply last week to adopt a baby from Ethiopia. We are waiting on approval. They may not approve us because of our concurrent China adoption. We will not pull out of China. We are praying that we will have time to adopt from both countries. Ethiopia at the present time is taking around 12-15 months from start to finish. Once you bring your baby home, you have to have him or her home for 12 months before you can adopt another baby. It will be pretty close possibly, but who really knows............we may have plenty of time.............or China could miraculously speed up and Ethiopia slow down!!! Only the big Guy upstairs knows.............and I am pretty sure He is the One in charge. Make that I am positive He is the One in charge! Are you hearing me God? I know you are in charge...........Haven't I learned my lesson?! Not my plan, not my timeframe...........I know already. Please help everything to fall into place a.s.a.p. (just kidding God)!
